Glad you're giving it another "go". I love that you showed your development in the process. You're such a pro at staying loose. Since I'm in Oregon's high desert, I'm concerned the dry air would make them incredibly difficult, so I haven't dipped my toes in yet.
It's incredibly dry here, too, Barbara. The marks are dry before I lift the brush which is challenging! Still, it's a fun medium to play with. It forces me to let go of control.
I have heard of Flashe but know little about it. As an old graphic designer who worked with gouache a lot in school and later, I was intrigued by what I saw. You have really inspired me, and of course, much of it is your superb talent! So fresh and immediate!
Not doing as much as I would like to Ingrid, the mojo is steadily declining since turning 80! I love seeing your work it really inspires me to try more .. thank you 💕
I think we’re looking for something fresh for spring:) My only complaint with Flashe is the jars. They could use a silicone inner rim for a better seal. I lost several jars to drying.
Beautiful Ingrid! You've peaked my interest. The Blick in Savannah carries Flashe, mostly because of SCAD and all of the commercial art students and theater. I've never read anyone describe it's qualities and am thankful that you did. Having to switch, reluctantly, from oils to acrylics and always battling the medium is a real challenge. Some of the things you mentioned, like no value shift, and it's good coverage, are a couple of qualities that I feel missing in regular acrylics. I'm going to have to give these a try. Thank you!
I can’t wait to see what you do with them, Marc! I know that people use them in conjunction with regular acrylics, as well, but I haven’t found many examples of that. You can show us how that’s done:)
Wow! Thanks Ingrid. I have never heard of this paint, and I will try it. By the way, you are superb at abstract painting - you can't fool us. Cheers! Waiting for your next course.
it's the first time that I heard of Flashe paint! Thanks for sharing your process with it!
You're welcome! I hope you get a chance to play with the paint
So interesting. I’d never heard of Flashe paint. Loved what you did here. Thank you for sharing and letting us see the progression.
You're welcome, Doris! It's always a delight to play with new art supplies:)
Really enjoying your recent helpful posts. Thank you!
It’s my pleasure, Shelley. Thanks for reading my newsletter!

Thanks, Lee🙏 I think they’re very similar in appearance to gouache - another gorgeous medium. Have fun with them!
Thank you Ingrid🐣
You’re welcome, Margaret! I hope you’re doing well and getting a lot painting time.

Okay … I better see what shape my flashe paints are in. I’m feeling inspired to mix things up! Thanks for the inspiration.
