THE PAINTED HISTORY: THE FAMILY ALBUM REVISITED
APRIL 25 - 28, 2024
KANATA ART CLUB
KANATA, ONTARIO, CANADA
Calling adventurous painters who want to mark the end of winter with an exciting artistic journey!
Join me in Kanata, Ontario this April for a dynamic, four-day experience at'The Painted History: The Family Album Revisited' workshop, hosted by the Kanata Art Club.
You’ll learn to transcend your figurative snapshots to create art that not only captivates visually, but also holds deep personal significance. This workshop isn't just about painting; it's about infusing your art with emotion and meaning. Whether you're a seasoned painter or just starting your artistic journey, this workshop promises inspiration, learning, and a chance to hone your skills.
We’ll focus on:
developing a clear concept for each image
editing and composing the elements of the photo into a dynamic and effective whole
generating colour schemes for black and white photos or color-degraded photos
exploring brushwork and paint application
simplifying features and figures
You’ll tackle several images to become comfortable with the process of designing and developing figurative paintings. My goal is to give you a logical, thoughtful approach that you can apply to your work in the future.
This is a great opportunity to push yourself out of your comfort zone and explore figurative work with like-minded artists. The workshop is appropriate for artists working in opaque mediums. My demos will be in oil.
I hope you’ll come!
