2 exciting online classes offered again
I know that I’ve hit on a special workshop subject when everyone does their homework😁. Something about what I’m presenting resonates deeply and I get comments like the fantastic “My mind is on fire” that a participant posted in the class chat room after a recent lesson.
I’ll be offering two online workshops to light your artistic fire in May and I hope you’ll check them out:
“One Subject, Many Takes: Finding Originality Through a Series” (Tuesdays, May 17 - June 7) is a workshop that I taught over the winter and the art that came out of the class was amazing. I pushed people out of their comfort zones and they responded enthusiastically, posting several paintings each week, asking loads of questions, and engaging with each other in a way that made the online venue seem like an artists’ colony, fizzing with ideas.
To my pleasure, I’m currently in the middle of teaching another workshop that’s sparking lots of great work and discussion: The Painted History: A Fresh Look at the Family Album.
It delves into personal history and I’m impressed by how students are mingling emotional content and technical considerations to produce paintings that work on two levels: as art and as communication. I’ll be offering The Painted History again on Saturdays, May 21 - June 11.
You can find detailed information and register for these workshops by clicking the links above.
If your artistic practise could use some fresh fuel, I hope you’ll join me online. We’ll work hard and have a lot of fun!
